Take a Look at the Evolution of Iconic Food Labels

Food labels tell a story about the contents of the packaging, as well as the personality of each food manufacturing brand. As some of our favorite foods have evolved over the years, their labels have changed to reflect modern taste and style. From cereals to sodas and more, you are sure to be amazed when you look back at the evolution of some of your favorite food labels. Let’s explore how some of the most iconic food labels have evolved over time.

Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola has been around for more than a century, and this popular soda has had many different updates to its label design. When Coca-Cola was first introduced to the market, its label featured a pharmaceutical look. Once Coke’s manufacturer’s realized that their concoction had a wider appeal, they decided to update its labeling with the now-iconic red and white logo.

Honey Nut Cheerios

Honey Nut Cheerios have been a breakfast stable for many generations of families. During the early days of this cereal brand, its package labeling featured a very two-dimensional bee mascot. As the label has been updated over time, Buzz, the Honey Nut Cheerios bee, has been redesigned with three-dimensional features that stand out on the box design.

Cheetos

While Chester Cheetah is a familiar food logo icon today, the Cheetos brand did not always feature this cool cat. When Cheetos were first placed on the market, they featured a simple label design that did not include the now-infamous mascot. Realizing that they needed their packaging to stand out from the rest, the manufacturers of Cheetos created the Chester Cheetah character, who is now on all Cheetos packaging.
